Paul McNally believes his side don’t need to hide anymore and are now “big game” players after their FA Cup run last season.

The minnows made it to the first round and faced League Two side Harrogate Town against all odds.

And the gulf in class eventually showed as the Yorkshire side ran out 4-1 winners, Danny Mitchley with the only goal for Skem.

Marine went two rounds better and saw their FA Cup dream shattered by Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur.

McNally added that the derby with Vauxhall Motors will be blood and thunder as they eye a place in the Preliminary round.

“We’ve got a really tough test against Vauxhall. It could go down to the wire, it could go to a replay or we could get done by a controversial decision you never know.

“You need those elements in the cup, you can never rest it on your season.

“We will be going there to try and win, we won’t be going there to make up the numbers as I’m sure they’ll be looking to turn us over.

“We’ve got big game players in the team now, we don’t need to hide them everyone knows who they are. It’s a case of just getting on with it and seeing how it goes.

“Vauxhall will know all of the players who play for us, so we can’t hide how we play. We just go from that.

“It’s going to be a good game, good derby game. I watched them on Saturday, it will be a very blood and thunder game both teams are excited and looking forward to it, just get a win and have a good game that’s all I ask – and no injuries.”

Both sides go into the cup tie on the back of defeats in their opening matches in the North West Counties Premier Division.
