Mick McGraa is looking for Vauxhall Motors to continue their winning run against ‘title contenders’ Bootle.

Motors picked up their first win of the season against City of Liverpool to end their wait since returning to the Northern Premier League West.

They backed up their positive showing against the Purps with an impressive away win against AFC Mossley in the Isuzu FA Trophy.

McGraa believes their recent upturn in results is “massive” for his sides confidence but is under no illusions that Bootle will pose a sterner threat, tipping the Bucks to be around the upper reaches of the table come April.

“I’ve said it a lot in recent weeks, we should be sitting on a lot more points but we’re not, we can’t feel sorry for ourselves – back-to-back wins is massive for us,” he told Off The Park.

“They’re a good side, they’ve strengthened and signed some top players. But we’re going to go there and try to win, like we do every game, we won’t be going in to sit back, we’ll going there to win.

“I don’t see the point in doing anything different, we need to stay in the game as long as we can but I think we can hurt Bootle – they have a lot of players who can hurt us. We’re looking a different team at the moment so hopefully we can go and get something.

“This is why we want to be in this league, you can get tied down in the Counties being in there too long.

“This is where we want to be, there will be a good crowd, they’re a top club and what Dave is doing I won’t be surprised if they go on to win it [the league] or be around it. It’ll be a test but we’re not a bad side ourselves.”
