‘It’s a massive one’ – Litherland REMYCA looking to bounce back in FA Cup against Prestwich Heys

Johnny Foy shoots for Litherrland REMYCA vs FC Isle of Man

Litherland REMYCA assistant manager Paul Bowes is relaxed going into their FA Cup clash with Prestwich Heys.

The REMY suffered defeat last time out as FC Isle of Man ran out 2-1 winners at Litherland Sports Park. Despite the result, Litherland can take positives from their showing against the newly-promoted side after enjoying a lot of possession against one of the highly-rated teams in the division.

George Lomax and Jamie McDonald are looking to get their accounts underway for the season and could do so in the trip to Prestwich.

Should they overcome Heys, a home tie with either Stocksbridge Park Steels or Golcar United awaits in the FA Cup Preliminary Round.

“It’s a massive one but it takes a bit of pressure off the lads it’s not in the league, they can go in the cup the pressures gone to just have a game,” Bowes said speaking to Off The Park on Wednesday and hopes the break away from the North West Counties will be beneficial.

“Go and play how we play, get on the ball, create chances but we’ve got to put them away. A break from the league might do us good. Gives us another week.”
