We’ve reached the halfway stage of the season and with the busy festive period coming, Off The Park spoke to Southport fan Tommy.
Thoughts on the season so far?
The start of the season was very unlucky as we were in the drop zone.
But, we managed to get the results that we deserved and over the space of a few weeks, we are seventh and have a really good chance to go up
Worst moment of the season & why?
I think the worst moment of the season was the 3-3 draw against Gateshead it drained a lot of confidence and we really shouldn’t have dropped a 3-1 lead.
Best moment of the season?
I think the best moment of the season was the win against Boston United, it was a shock win and put us in the play-off race.
Signing of the season
The signing of the season has to be Cam Mason, he has been vital for us so far and has been good all season.
Current player of the season & why?
It’s not even a debate that Marcus Carver has been our player of the season, he has been scoring for fun this season.
Realistic ambitions for the rest of the season
This season I think we could go up. For me, the minimum is a play-off spot.
