FAN VIEW: Skelmersdale United

Skelmersdale United attacker Michael Howard in action against Winsford.

We’ve reached the half way stage of the season and with the busy festive period coming, Off The Park spoke to Skelmersdale fan, Graham.

Thoughts on the season so far?

Been a very good season considering what’s going on in the world pandemic wise. After a first game loss at home the team have really been consistent and have shown that week in week out, the odd hiccup here and there but you can’t win them all.

Worst moment of the season & why?

The worst moment of the season was going away to Burscough and being 2-0 down very early on.

To be fair it finished 2-2 and with 5-10 more minutes we would have beaten them. So not really what you call the worst moment.

Signing of the season

Young Elliott Morris was on fire at the start of the season and scoring goals for fun. Kenny Strickland has come back and is just calmness personified, Abdul Djalo (just gone to Macclesfield) was also brilliant. To be fair the whole squad have been very good.

Current player of the season & why?

Honestly that is so difficult to answer, but I think Ben Barnes is just shading it for now, he has been brilliant all season.

Realistic ambitions for the rest of the season

Realistic ambitions for the season. Well we can still win the league and get back in the NPL so that would be excellent and the whole team deserves it management, players, coaches the board and all us fans.
