Elliott Nevitt signs for Tranmere Rovers

Nevitt celebrates at Wembley

Warrington Rylands’ Wembley hat-trick hero Elliott Nevitt has signed a one-year deal with League Two side Tranmere Rovers.

The 21-year-old’s crowns a superb season off with his first professional contract after leading Rylands to FA Vase glory.

In making history, he joined an esteemed list as his hat-trick was the first at the home of English football since Harry Kane’s against Montenegro in 2019.

He was instrumental in the Business Houses Premier Champions Campfield’s double-winning season after he headed home the winner in the National Cup final against St Josephs.

The Campy won the league in their final game of the season after James Barrigan’s volley against The Bull secured the all-important point.

With the season curtailed, Rylands were forced to play FA Vase fixtures as they knocked out 2019/20 FA Vase winners Hebburn Town on route to the final.

Micky Mellon said: “Elliott deserves his opportunity. We have seen his guts, determination and he has trained well since he came in. He is at a different stage of his career compared to Callum but Tranmere has always been good at finding and nurturing local non-league talent from Merseyside in order to give them an opportunity, which is something I love to do. We are going to work very hard with Elliott.”

Speaking after his deal was announced, Nevitt said: “I’m so happy, I’m made up to be honest. I’ve heard it means everything to fans, they love hard work and I’m going to have to do everything for them.”
