Vauxhall Motors manager Mick McGraa is desperate for their next outing following successive defeats.

*This is a transcript from Off The Park’s interview with Vauxhall Motors manager Mick McGraa. Motors suffered back-to-back 3-0 defeats to Nantwich Town and Prescot Cables. They face Chasetown and City of Liverpool, this Bank Holiday Weekend.

On the start to the season: “It’s been very difficult, we didn’t foresee these results coming but hopefully, it’ll make us strong. We’ve got a bank holiday weekend to put it right.”

Thoughts on the performance against Cables: “I thought we were beaten by the better team [against Prescot Cables], they had a bit more about them.

“You could tell that they have lads who have played at the level for a long time, we have quite a few who haven’t. The gulf was there for all to see on Tuesday.”

How can you look to respond? “We need to bring players in, I think the players know that, [the message is] to just work harder.

“We need to be clued up quicker and listen to what’s being said, they didn’t take instruction on very well on Tuesday.

“Sometimes you’ve got to hold your hands up and say you got beaten by the better team, and we did. It’s down to us to put it right and I think the lads have got the mentality to do that, it’s good that we’ve got two games quick.

“I wish it was tomorrow but Saturday and Monday will be two good tests, we’re playing second in the league [Chasetown] and City of Liverpool, who I think are really strong.”
