City of Liverpool looking to pick up ‘as many’ wins until season conclusion

City of Liverpool striker Josh Quarless embraces manager Michael Ellison

City of Liverpool manager Michael Ellison has highlighted the Purps’ principles for the remainder of the season.

They travel to 1874 on Saturday looking to make it successive wins.

Josh Quarless scored the only goal in a win over Widnes prior to the postponement of last weekend’s clash.

But Ellison is looking to put things right against 1874 Northwich.

“It was a good win against Widnes then the game being off was unfortunate. It does give us a chance to get a couple back. Preparation hasn’t been great,” the Purps boss told Off The Park.

“We’re just taking each game as it comes and try and win as many as we can before the end of the season.

“After a great win against Widnes under tough circumstances we probably got one or two lads back fit this week.

“It’s another game against a team around us, it’ll be a tough, close game, it was a close game when we played earlier in the season they pipped us 1-0, I thought we deserved something out of it, it wasn’t to be so we’ll be looking to put it right Saturday.”
