Steven Daley says Prescot Cables must turn up if they are to continue their winning run to three games.

*This is a transcript from Off The Park’s interview with Prescot Cables manager, Steven Daley. They face 1874 Northwich and Prescot Cables following wins in the FA Cup and Northern Premier League West.

Thoughts on the response to defeat against Avro: “Avro come and done what they do, they were nice and compact, go long and got the goal. We just couldn’t break them down, after that we needed a reaction.

“We got it from the good performance in the FA Cup, it then stood us in good stead for Vauxhall. We’re delighted to get the first three points on the board because it’s always the most difficult one to get. Once we settled down and got playing, we showed what we can do.”

Momentum to build on after the last two wins? “You want to do well and win games. We’ve had five competitive games, won twice in the cup, once in the league, and lost twice in the league.

“When you lose your first two games, they come around quick, it was nice to get the win and the lads can look forward to Saturday. Hopefully we can capitalise on it.”

Thoughts ahead of this weekend: “Whoever turns up on the day will win the game, you can’t afford to have an off day.

“Every player has to be at it and you have to do your job. You’ve got to make sure that you do all the basics well, if you have an off day, it’ll bite you but I’m confident if we relax, get the ball down and do what we can do, I’m confident we can get the three points.”
