AFC Liverpool manager Matt Potter has his eyes on revenge as they travel to Winsford United.

Lower Breck handed the Non-League Reds their third defeat of the season in a fog-affected clash on Thursday.

AFC Liverpool face a short turnaround as they travel to Winsford United looking to avenge their 2-1 defeat from earlier in the season.

Elliott Hughes equalised early in the second half but the visitors stole the points late on. Winsford have struggled in the early part of the season but have found form just in time for the visit of Potter’s side.

He told Off The Park: “It’ll be tough, they’ve started to pick up a little bit more now, went to watch them against Burscough.

“The pitch isn’t great by any stretch of the imagination so we’re going from our 3G to 3G here, going there is going to be tough, a different challenge but again, they beat us earlier in the season so we’ve got a point to prove.

“It’s not acceptable to have two losses back to back and that’s what we said after the game. We go in strong, we don’t go in to get beat or roll over or die, this is the character you need to show.

“It’s nice when you’re winning because the confidence flows. [Against Lower Breck] Although the game was flat, we didn’t get drummed, we weren’t out of place, we didn’t crumble. It was just one of those games that was flat and you can’t lose all of them. We rectify it and kick on.”
