AFC Liverpool frustration continues as their winless run stretches to six

AFC Liverpool manager Chris Anderson

AFC Liverpool manager Chris Anderson has expressed his frustration after their winless run continued.

The Reds led twice against Winsford United thanks to a Kyle Schorah but they were pegged back twice after Sam Madeley fired in a double of his own.

It means another point on the board as their recent run to six games since their last win with the NWCFL Premier Division is on the verge of conclusion.

For them next, it’s a trip to Longridge Town.

“Disappointing, I thought we played well, we ran well, we wanted it more. We were better in previous weeks and performance-wise, obviously disappointing to concede after being in front,” he told Off The Park.

“They were there for the taking, we could’ve got three points and just helped us along the way a little bit more, keeps our position in 12th.”

There was a positive moment for AFC Liverpool as they handed a debut to Finley Heath, Anderson praised the youngster: “Finley [Heath] did well, young lad come in, very confident. There are a couple of tweaks he could develop on but I thought it was a really good.

“They play great football, they’ll continue to keep playing football. They never change. We have to be better with the ball because there will be times we won’t have it, we have to resilient enough to defend and make sure when we do have the ball, we’re creating chances and taking opportunities we’re presented with.”
